Every year, hundreds of our fellow football clubs brace for floods that will cancel matches, destroy facilities, drain precious financial resources and deprive communities of physical activity and fun. 

These are not one-off events. They are Britain's new winter reality. Every winter brings the same pattern: floods hit, matches are cancelled, volunteers spend months cleaning up, and we fundraise desperately for repairs. 

By the time we've recovered, it's time to brace for the next flood.

Our clubs are the heartbeat of our communities. They are where our communities gather to celebrate, connect, remember and mourn. 

If we don’t get longterm support to deal with flooding, we risk financial collapse – and the communities we serve will lose more than a football club.

We are asking for the government to act to protect where we play.
